Two Saskatoon men are facing a number of charges after refusing to stop for Police early this morning.
At approximately 3:15 a.m., December 13, 2017, Patrol officers observed a grey 2005 GMC Sierra truck driving suspiciously in the area of 22nd Street West and Avenue I. Officers quickly confirmed that the truck had been reported stolen and activated their emergency equipment in efforts to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the truck refused to stop for Police and began driving erratically. The truck soon collided with a trailer in the area of 17th Street West and Avenue J South where three occupants exited the truck. Two suspects began fleeing on foot but one female suspect was immediately arrested without incident, and later released.
After a brief foot pursuit, a Patrol member arrested the second suspect without incident. Patrol members in the area observed the third suspect walking down the street and asked him for his information. They confirmed that this was the third suspect involved, and placed him under arrest without incident, shortly after the Canine Unit finished tracking him to that location. The Canine Unit also located property that the suspect had discarded along the way. The suspects were found to be in possession of cocaine, a stolen credit card and a cheque, a knife, a hammer and Break & Enter tools.
A 26 year old Saskatoon man was charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, Possession of Cocaine and Breach of Probation.
