Two men are facing numerous drugs and firearms charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST).
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., March 7, 2017, Patrol officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 100 block of Taylor Street East. The suspect fled prior to Police arrival. Officers seized 175.8 grams of cocaine and a digital scale while investigating the assault. The suspect, a 30-year-old man, was later located at a residence in the 2600 block of Melrose Avenue. He was subsequently arrested for Assault and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
As a result of this investigation, SIDEST executed search warrants on the two residences and a vehicle, and seized a total of 219.8 grams of cocaine, over $40,000 in cash, pepper spray, a .22 caliber pistol, a semi-automatic SKS rifle, various ammunition and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
A 30-year-old man is facing charges of Assault, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000 and Possession of Dangerous Weapon. (Court Info #991004741).
A second man, 62-years-old, was arrested at the residence on Taylor Street and is facing charges of; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000, Careless Storage of Firearm (x2), Careless Storage of Ammunition, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (x2), Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2), Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, and Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence (x2).
