Patrol officers along with SPS Crisis Negotiators and members of the Tactical Support Unit (TSU) are on the scene of a disturbance in the 700 block of McCormack Road.
Just after 5:30 AM Saturday morning the Saskatoon Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a residence. The 911 operator was able to hear what sounded like a fight, however she was unable to get anyone to talk on the phone. Police attended and were met by a male who was acting erratically and making verbal threats toward the attending officers. There was also an adult female and several children at the residence. The female and children were removed by police, however the male continued with his threatening demeanor and made more threats eluding to the use of a firearm.
Police have the area contained, and crisis negotiators are working to diffuse and resolve the situation. Traffic restrictions are in place and the public is asked to avoid the area. An update will be issued as the situation unfolds.
