The 27 year old accused is expected to appear in front of a Justice of the Peace this evening and make his first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 16, 2017.

Court information #991005468.

On March 14, 2017 Saskatoon Police Service members received information that a 2012 Ford Raptor had been stolen earlier on this date from a residence in the RM of Dundurn.  At approximately 6:35 p.m. officers located the stolen truck in the 800 block of Avenue O South.  As officers approached, the driver (who is known to police), put the truck in reverse and struck the front of the police cruiser.  The suspect was able to flee in the stolen vehicle.  Later in the evening, the RCMP then located the truck at a rural residence near Martinsville.  Members of the Saskatoon Police Tactical Support Unit (TSU) and K9 attended to assist.  Upon police arrival at approximately 9:50pm, the Raptor attempted to flee once again and began ramming one of the police cruisers.  Police were able to subdue the 27 year old man only after deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW).   Upon arrest, police located a loaded, sawed off 12 gauge shotgun in the cab of the truck.

The man was Unlawfully at Large and had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest.  He is being charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5000, Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Drive While Prohibited and several firearms and weapons offences.   He is also being charged for another incident that occurred on March 12th, 2017 where he evaded police in a different vehicle while in the 800 block of Avenue O South.  For this occurrence he is being charged with Evade Police, Dangerous Driving and Drive While Prohibited.
