A 25-year-old man from Onion Lake, SK, is facing charges after failing to stop for Police early this morning.
Shortly after 4:00 a.m., March 21, 2017, Patrol officers attempted to stop a truck in the area of 25th Street East and Kinsmen Avenue after learning it was stolen. Instead of stopping, the suspect vehicle fled the scene at a high speed. Officers discontinued their efforts to stop the vehicle, however other officers in the area spotted the vehicle. Stop sticks were successfully deployed on College Drive near Hospital Drive, however the vehicle continued to drive. Stop sticks were successfully deployed a second time in the area of 2nd Avenue and Duchess Street. The suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 500 block of 4th Avenue North. The lone occupant of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot but a canine unit apprehended him. The suspect sustained injuries consistent with dog bites.
Police seized brass knuckles, a knife, methamphetamine, hydromorphone and methylphemidate from the vehicle.
A 25-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Evade Police, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possession of Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Possession (x3), Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance.
