Saskatoon Police and the Saskatoon Fire Department have cleared the scene of a suspicious package this morning. Members of the SFD Hazardous Materials Unit determined that the envelope contained powder that is not hazardous. Traffic restrictions have been lifted. Detectives with the SPS Targeted Enforcement Unit will be investigating.
Traffic restrictions are in place at 4th Avenue and 20th Street this hour as the Saskatoon Fire Department and Saskatoon Police investigate a suspicious package.
At approximately 10:20 a.m., March 27, 2017, Police received a report of an envelope containing what appeared to be a white powdery substance. It had been delivered to a business in the 200 block of 4th Avenue South. Members of the SFD Hazardous Materials Unit are now investigating to determine what the substance is.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid that intersection.
