Update - Suspicious Package - 2000 Block Airport Drive

The Saskatoon Fire Hazardous Materials Unit has determined that the substance related to a suspicious package to be non-hazardous.

The Saskatoon Police Targeted Enforcement Unit is now investigating.

Saskatoon Police and Saskatoon Fire Hazardous Materials Unit are responding to a report of a suspicious package containing a white powder-like substance.

At 11:00 a.m., April 6, 2017, Police were called to a hotel in the 2000 block of Airport Drive after employees received a suspicious package. The package was reported to contain a white powdery substance.

The Saskatoon Fire Hazardous Materials Unit is on scene to determine if the substance is hazardous. 

More information will be released when available.

Police wish to remind the public that anyone handling mail should do so with caution. If the package or envelope appears suspicious in nature:

  • do not handle more than necessary
  • isolate the area; prevent people access to stop the spread of possible contamination
  • call 9-1-1
  • report suspicious activity to Saskatoon Polcie at 306-975-8300 or remain anonymous by reporting to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
