Saskatoon Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery where a 16 year old male was shot.
On April 7, 2017 at approximately 2:00 a.m. police responded to a residence in the 400 block of Avenue W South for a report of 16 year old male who had been shot. He was transported to Royal University Hospital and is in serious, but stable condition.
Police determined that the shooting had taken place near the intersection of 20th Street West and Avenue W South at approximately 1:30 a.m. The victim had been walking down the street when approached by a male suspect who attempted to rob him. The victim refused the suspect’s demands. The suspect then pulled out a concealed firearm and shot him. The suspect fled the scene and the victim made his way to a nearby residence where the Police were called.
The victim and suspect were not known to each other.
Little information is known about the suspect. He is described as having a skinny build, about 6’ – 6’2” tall, wearing black pants, and a black toque.
The investigation is ongoing.
