Update To Saskatoon's 1st Homicide For 2017. File 2017-4232

Update

Saskatoon Police Major Crime Section have identified a Daniel Forest age 27 as a person of interest in regards to the City’s First Homicide of 2017. Daniel Forest needs to be located and questioned. (Photo attached).

Daniel Forest is believed to be operating a 2001 Red 4 door Ford Explorer.

Subject: Saskatoon's 1st Homicide for 2017. File 2017-4232

Just before midnight January 11th, 2017 Saskatoon City Police patrol members along with MD Ambulance and Fire personnel responded to an injured male in a residence in the 200 block Avenue I South.
Upon arrival members located a 45 year old injured male who had been the victim of an apparent assault. Male was transported to the Royal University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Saskatoon Police Major Crime Section, Forensic Identification Section, working in conjunction with the Chief Coroner’s office are actively investigating.
At the request of the family the name of the deceased will not be released.
Updates to this investigation will come from Major Crime Section or Public Affairs office when more information to share is available.
