An investigation into a possible explosive device has found the report was a false alarm.
The response to the call included members of Patrol, the Explosive Disposal Unit and the Canine Unit. A perimeter was established around the vehicle involved, the robot and a Saskatoon Police dog capable of detecting explosive devices were both utilized. A woman was located inside the vehicle and removed to a safe location. Upon a further search of the vehicle no explosive device was located.
The woman was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant was taken into custody.
Saskatoon Police are investigating a report of a suspicious device in the 1500 block of 20th Street West.
Just before 9:00 a.m., May 16, 2017, Police received a report from a man that he had located what he believes to be a suspicious object inside his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a business at the time. As a safety precaution a perimeter has been established and members of the Explosive Disposal Unit are investigating.
