One man is in custody and warrants have been requested for two others following an incident yesterday where a man was unlawfully confined and violently assaulted.
The 23 year old man was taken into custody at the home yesterday. Warrants have been requested for two other men, ages 33 and 36, who police have not yet located.
The 26 year old victim is now recovering from his injuries. He has told investigators that he does not know his attackers and was walking past the home when he was called over, taken inside the home and beaten. He later escaped and sought medical help.
An update will be provided once further charges are laid.
Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Targeted Enforcement Unit are investigating a report of unlawful confinement and aggravated assault.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., May 16, 2017, Police received a report of an injured man seeking treatment at Royal University Hospital. Officers located the man who is now being treated for non life-threatening injuries. Further investigation led them to a home at Avenue G and 17th Street. Several people were located inside and removed from the home. At this time investigators are conducting interviews and charges are pending.
