A 20 year old man from Saskatoon and a 19 year old woman from North Battleford are facing charges after the Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit tracked the stolen vehicle they were in through the north part of the city.
At 1:00 am Thursday morning, Police received a tip indicating that a vehicle reported stolen from North Battleford was in the 1500 block of 23rd St W. The SPS Air Support Unit spotted the vehicle in the north part of the city and followed it , guiding ground units to a location where tire deflation devices were successfully deployed. The vehicle eventually stopped on Idylwyld Drive N near 71st Street. The two occupants were taken in to custody without incident.
Police encountered this same vehicle on Tuesday morning just before 11:00 am. In that case the driver refused to stop for police, however there was no pursuit due to public safety concerns.
The two suspects are facing charges including possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, and evade police. They will appear in court later on Thursday. There were no injuries as a result of the arrests.
