Eight people have been arrested and 15 charges have been laid in connection with fentanyl trafficking in Saskatoon.
Following an investigation involving Saskatoon Police Major Crime, the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team, and Guns and Gangs, the eight were arrested on June 11, 2017 at a variety of locations. Subsequently two homes were searched, one in the 3000 block of Laurier Drive and another in the 100 block of Molland Lane. In total, officers seized 75 pills believed to be fentanyl, 74 full and 21 half pills believed to be Xanax, 1.22 grams of cocaine, .21 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and approximately $3000 in cash.
A 27 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges of trafficking in fentanyl, possession of fentanyl, possession of the proceeds of crime, and breach of probation. A 24 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges of possession of fentanyl, possession of the proceeds of crime, and breach of probation. A 25 year old Saskatoon man is facing a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. A 26 year old Saskatoon woman is charged with trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in Xanax and possession of the proceeds of crime. A 25 year old Saskatoon woman is charged with possession of methamphetamine. A 24 year old woman is charged with failing to stop for police. In addition, a 22 year old woman is charged with possession of fentanyl.
