A 24 year old Saskatoon man is in custody following an incident in which the driver of a truck evaded police overnight.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., June 14, 2017, Patrol officers spotted a suspicious vehicle traveling on Bedford Road near Avenue P. The vehicle was then witnessed failing to stop at a stop sign. Officers activated their emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop, however the driver of the vehicle refused to comply. The vehicle evaded Police, turning westbound onto 22nd Street and traveling at a reduced speed. The driver again refused to stop in spite of repeated commands until he reached a parking lot in the 200 block of Fairmont Drive. The 24 year old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was then taken into custody.
He is now facing charges of impaired driving, exceeding .08, driving while disqualified, evading police, and breach of undertaking.
