One man is facing charges after he unlawfully entered a dwelling earlier this morning.
At approximately 4:15 a.m., July 4, 2017, Patrol officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Avenue P South after complaints that a man had unlawfully entered a residence with a machete before leaving on a bike. Police located the man riding his bike a short distance away, but he refused to stop. Police eventually confronted the man in the 200 block of Avenue R South. He continued to disobey Police commands and made several motions to grab something from his waistband. A Patrol officer deployed a conducted energy weapon and the suspect was taken into custody. He did not require medical attention.
Police located a knife and methamphetamine on the suspect.
The 26-year-old man is facing charges of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Break and Enter, Possession of Methamphetamine and Breach of Probation. (Court Info # 90129318).
