A 24 year old Saskatoon man is facing 19 charges following an investigation into drug trafficking in the city.
Following initial investigation, members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST) arrested the 24 year old man at approximately 10:00 p.m., July 5, 2017 on Fairlight Drive. He was found to be in possession of brass knuckles, 1.3 grams of cocaine in three bags, and 5.2 grams of marihuana in five bags. A search warrant was then executed at a residence in the 200 block of Lochrie Crescent. Inside officers located the following:
A sawed-off shotgun with ammunition.
30.2 grams of cocaine.
3.8 grams of methamphetamine.
2.6 grams of marihuana.
$265 in cash.
Scales and baggies.
Rounds for a 9mm firearm.
The 19 charges include Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Cocaine and Methamphetamine, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime and numerous firearm and weapon related charges. He is expected to appear before a Justice of the Peace this evening.
SIDEST is an integrated unit made up of members of the Saskatoon Police Service and the RCMP “F” Division.
