Saskatoon Police arrested three people Sunday evening following an Evade Police event.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle shortly before 8:00 p.m., July 9, 2017 in the area of Cartier Crescent and John A. MacDonald Road. The suspect vehicle evaded Police and began driving erratically causing officers to disengage due to public safety concerns.
The SPS’s Air Support Unit took over the vehicle track and observed the car come to a stop in the 3900 block of Diefenbaker Drive. Three people exited the vehicle and ran into a residence in the 800 block of Steeves Avenue. The ASU guided ground unit officers to the residence, where one female suspect was observed fleeing the home. After a short foot chase, she was apprehended and arrested by an officer. Meanwhile, the homeowner gave consent to Police to search the home, which resulted in the arrest of two more people.
A 17 year old female was charged with Obstruction and Breach of Conditions.
A 27 year old male was charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Recognizance.
A 26 year old female was arrested on outstanding warrants for Breach of Probation (x2) and Fail to Appear in Court. She was taken to hospital where she was treated for minor cuts and scrapes before being transported back to SPS Detention.
The vehicle and licence plate were both confirmed to have been stolen.
