Two teen boys are facing charges following an incident in which the occupants of a stolen vehicle evaded police overnight.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., July 26, 2017 Police received information that a stolen Nissan Maxima, white in colour, was traveling into Saskatoon from Moose Jaw. The vehicle was then spotted by patrol members on McKercher Drive. Officers attempted a traffic stop however the occupants of the vehicle refused to stop for Police. A tire deflation device was then used and the vehicle was successfully disabled, ending up in a ditch at Clarence Avenue and Circle Drive.
Officers took the occupants of the vehicle, two boys ages 15 and 16 and an 11 year old girl, into custody.
The two males are facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property, with the 16 year old additionally charged with Evade Police. He was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. They were scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court today. The three are residents of Moose Jaw or the surrounding area. Members of the Saskatoon Crisis Intervention Service were called to assist with the girl.
