Shortly before 3:30a.m. this morning the Saskatoon Police received a call of a male who unlawfully confined by another male, and eventually barricading himself in a residence in the 800 Block of 33rd Street west. The victim was able to escape and get away unharmed, however the suspect barricaded himself for approximately 5 hours while Saskatoon Police Tactical members, Crisis Negotiators, and Patrol members attempted to convince the male to exit the residence.
Just after 9:00a.m. the male came out of the residence and was arrested without incident. The male faces charges of assault, unlawful confinement, with weapons charges pending.
The Saskatoon Police want to thank citizens in the area and the media for their patience in this matter. Traffic is now flowing normally again.
