Four girls ages 14 and 16 are facing charges following an incident where a stolen vehicle attempted to evade police.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., August 15, 2017, an officer on patrol spotted the driver of a Ford Flex commit a traffic violation near Avenue W and 22nd Street. The officer then activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop the suspect vehicle. The driver failed to stop and made several turns in an attempt to evade the officer. The vehicle then stopped suddenly on Avenue U North and four female occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene on foot. They were spotted moments later attempting to hide outside a nearby home.
The four were taken into custody and are each facing a charge of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. They are expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court Wednesday morning. The vehicle ignition key was located by officers inside the vehicle.
