On September 1st, 2017, members of the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, conducted a high risk traffic stop on 22nd Street West and Circle Drive shortly after 6 p.m.
Following up on Firearms information, the Guns and Gangs and Tactical Support Units located the suspect vehicle and conducted the traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of a 40 year old male. No firearm was located, but officers did locate approximately half an ounce of cocaine, 30 oxycodone pills, and a large sum of cash.
As a result of the seizure, the male has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cocaine and oxycodone, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over five thousand dollars. The male will go before a Justice of the Peace the following morning.
