As children return to school, safety in school zones is again a focus for parents, school divisions and law enforcement.
During the first week of school, Saskatoon Police School Resource Officers will be visible in the eight new school zones reminding drivers and students about the importance of school zone traffic regulations through an educational enforcement campaign. “A Safer You, A Safer Me”, is a joint initiative that launched in 2013 involving the Saskatoon Police Service, Saskatoon Public Schools, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and the City of Saskatoon. It is a unique approach to combining education and enforcement.
A media availability will be held at 8:45 a.m., September 6, 2017 at the corner to Gordon Road and Stonebridge Common with representatives from the Saskatoon Police Service, Saskatoon Public Schools and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools.
