On September 6th and 7th, the Saskatoon Police Traffic Unit will be working along side Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan units from the SPS and the RCMP in order to conduct traffic safety initiatives in school zones throughout the city.
Motorists travelling through school zones are reminded that they must slow to 30 km/h between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. And remember, all U-turns are prohibited in school zones even at uncontrolled intersections.
As well, Police Officers will be strictly enforcing laws related to the use of cell phones while driving and the use of seat belts.
Traveling 40 km/h in the 30 km/h School Zone, will result in a fine of $210.
