Public Advisory - Vehicle Break-ins - Stolen Firearms

Saskatoon Police are advising motorists to ensure they are removing firearms and other items of value from their vehicles when leaving them parked following two reports of theft of hunting equipment overnight.

Both incidents were reported to have occurred sometime overnight while the owner's trucks were parking in two different hotel parking lots along Circle Drive North. In each case firearms were stolen from inside the vehicles. Ammunition and hunting equipment was also taken.

With an increase in the number of hunters arriving in Saskatoon, the SPS is requesting that special attention be paid to the removal of any type of valuable when leaving vehicles parked. In cases where stops need to be made at shopping centers to pick-up supplies, have someone remain in the vehicle with the equipment.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
