Saskatoon Police and EMS attended to the 300 block of Ave H South where they located a 29 year old male who had sustained a small caliber gunshot wound to a upper extremity. It is believed that an altercation had occurred between the victim and suspect, and a firearm was produced where the victim was shot in the arm. It is believed that the victim knew the suspect. The male with the injury was transported to hospital in stable condition.
A short time later, a Saskatoon Police Traffic unit was conducting speed enforcement on the east end of 8th Street when a pick-up began to evade the Traffic unit and ended up getting stuck in a field on the east end of Taylor Street. The male then had fled the truck on foot attempting to get away from the police. a SPS Canine unit was deployed and the male was apprehended a short later under a deck of a house. The male sustained minor injuries consistent with a dog bite.
This male that was arrested from the truck turned out to be the suspect involved in the shooting that had occurred in the 300 block Ave H South earlier this evening.
