A 71 year old Saskatoon man has succumbed to his injuries as a result of a vehicle/ pedestrian collision Wednesday evening at the intersection of 23rd Street West and Ave. T North.
Just before 5:00 PM a Dodge Ram truck, being operated by a 47 year old Saskatoon man, was west bound on 23rd Street and approached the 4-way stop intersection with Ave. T North. The truck had come to a stop but then proceeded west bound (straight ahead) and collided with the victim who was walking across 23rd Street north bound from the southeast corner of the intersection. He was transported to the Royal University Hospital by MD Ambulance in critical condition. He passed away a short time later.
SPS Collision Analysts have completed their work at the scene and traffic restrictions have been removed. The investigation is continuing and there has been no decision on any charges. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
Police and emergency crews are on the scene of a collision at the intersection of 23rd Street and Ave T North. SPS Traffic Unit Collision Analysts have also been deployed. A male has been transported to hospital via MD Ambulance. No further information regarding his condition. Traffic restrictions are in place. Please avoid the area if possible.
