Home Invasion - 300 Blk Carter Cr.

Saskatoon Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred yesterday evening.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., September 26, 2017, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Carter Crescent. When Police arrived, they immediately took one male suspect into custody who was being detained by a neighbour.

Two males had broken into the home through the patio door. They were confronted by the homeowner, a 58 year old man, who was assaulted with a hammer by the suspects. Once the suspects had gained entry to the home, they then assaulted a 27 year old man. After moments of physical altercation, the suspects fled the home in different directions. One suspect, an 18 year old man, was chased on foot and detained by a neighbor. At this time, officers are trying to determine if additional suspects were involved.

MD Ambulance attended and transported the 58 year old man to hospital with serious injuries. The 27 year old man was treated on scene. A 20 year old female was also in the home at the time, but was unharmed.

An 18 year old male from Prince Albert is facing charges of Aggravated Assault (x2), Break and Enter and Breach of Undertaking.
