The scene of the collision, which occurred at 3:30 p.m., October 10, 2017, has been cleared and regular traffic flow has resumed.
The minivan was found to have been traveling south-bound on Highway 41 before attempting to turn east onto Highway 5. The semi was traveling east on Highway 5 when it struck the minivan. The driver of the minivan, an 83 year old man, was charged with Fail to Yield right of way. He and his passenger were transported to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the semi, and lone occupant, were not injured.
The Saskatoon Fire Department was on scene to manage the diesel fuel leak from the semi.

The Saskatoon Police are currently at the scene of a vehicle collision east of the city.
At 3:30 p.m., October 10, 2017, officers were dispatched to a collision between a semi-truck and minivan at the intersection of Highways 5 and 41. Diesel fuel is leaking from the semi in the ditch. MD Ambulance is attending, but injuries are unknown at this time. Traffic restrictions are in place. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes as the investigation continues. An update will be provided as information becomes available.
