Attempted Robbery - Arrest - 100 Block 1st Ave. S

One man was arrested after attempting to rob a financial institution yesterday afternoon.

At 2:45 p.m., October 16, 2017, Saskatoon Police were dispatched to a financial institution in the 100 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of a robbery in progress. A man had entered the business and began waiting in line. He became belligerent to customers and demanded everyone to empty their pockets. He verbally threatened a staff member when attempts were made to calm the man down. When Police arrived, they discovered the man sitting in the back seat of a parked taxi cab outside of the business. He was then detained by officers. No one was injured during the incident.

A 27 year old male was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats.
