A Saskatoon man is facing eight charges after attempting to evade Police last night.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., October 18, 2017, a man on a bicycle nearly struck a Patrol car near the intersection of Avenue O South and 20th Street West. Patrol members in the car attempted to speak with the man as he had no reflective gear or lights on his bicycle, but he refused to stop and attempted to evade Police. Officers activated the emergency equipment on the Patrol car but the suspect refused to stop. Police observed the suspect get off of his bicycle and run into the garage of an apartment in the 1400 block of 20th Street West. The suspect refused to comply with verbal Police commands and, after a brief physical struggle, was apprehended by officers.
The suspect was found to be in possession of marihuana, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, drug packaging supplies, brass knuckles, cash and a cell phone.
A 24 year old male was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x3), Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Breach of Conditions (x3).
