Saskatoon Police have identified a person of interest regarding a threat made to an elementary school in the 700 block of Avenue K South on October 25, 2017, resulting in multiple perimeter lockdowns.
Further details will be released once the investigation is complete. The SPS would like to assure residents that there is no threat to public safety.
Saskatoon Police are currently on the scene of an elementary school perimeter lockdown in the 700 block of Avenue K South. School officials notified Police of a threat at approximately 8:30 a.m., October 25, 2017. The threat was received in the form of a voicemail. It is unclear at this time who made the threat and at what time. The nature of the threat is not being released.
As a precaution, four other neighbouring schools were placed under a perimeter lockdown in the areas of;
- 200 block Avenue H South
- 1200 block Avenue N South
- 300 block Avenue N South
- 200 block Avenue S South
Those lockdowns have been lifted. A perimeter lockdown for the school in the 700 block of Avenue K South will remain in place until further notice. School Resource Officers are investigating. No one was injured in this incident.
