A man and woman, both 22 years of age and both from Saskatoon, are in custody following an incident in which a driver refused to stop for police.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017, a Canine Officer on patrol noticed a white Chrysler Intrepid being driven in a suspicious manner in the area of 20th Street and Avenue T South. The officer activated his emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop, however the vehicle continued to evade him. The vehicle began to slow down a few blocks away before striking a curb and coming to a stop. The male driver and female passenger both fled on foot, however they were located and arrested minutes later.
The 22 year old man is facing charges of Evade Police, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Breach of Probation, Breach of Recognizance, and was wanted on several outstanding criminal code warrants.
The 22 year old woman was also wanted on an outstanding criminal code warrant.
Both are expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court this afternoon. A stolen auto investigation is ongoing.
