A 48 year old man and a 23 year old woman are facing a number of charges following the execution of a high-risk warrant at a home in the 600 block of Duchess Street.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., November 2, 2017, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, made entry into the home which was thought to contain weapons. Six people were quickly located inside and taken into custody. A seventh person was located in an upstairs bedroom armed with a metal pipe. She refused to comply with police directions and was bitten by a Police Service Dog while being taken into custody. She was transported to hospital by MD Ambulance with a minor wound to her arm, consistent with a dog bite.
Inside the home investigators located 56 grams of crystal methamphetamine, various knives, machetes, and an air pistol. The 48 year man and 23 year old woman were scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on charges including; weapons possession and possession of methamphetamine. The 41 year old woman who was injured will be facing similar charges at a later date.
