Theft From Vehicle - Canine Arrest

A Saskatoon Police Service Canine Officer and his dog apprehended a fleeing suspect last night, with the help of the victim.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., November 21, 2017, the officer was dispatched to the area of 28th Street West and Avenue D North for a report of a man stealing items from parked vehicles. The complainant witnessed the suspect exiting the complainant's vehicle and continue down the street, checking the doors of other vehicles. The complainant followed the suspect and updated officers as to his location. When the SPS Canine Unit arrived the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was successfully apprehended by the Police Service Dog. He did not suffer any injuries.

A 46 year old Saskatoon man was charged with Mischief and Theft. He was also found to have outstanding warrants.
