The Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Unit is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on November 19, 2017.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., November 19, 2017, Patrol members responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Avenue C North and Circle Drive West. Initial investigation showed that a truck traveling eastbound on Circle Drive disobeyed the red light, and struck a car with two occupants. Both occupants were transported to hospital with what were believed at the time to be non-life threatening injuries.
The passenger of the car, a 56-year-old male, remained in hospital since the time of the collision and his condition deteriorated. He passed away in hospital on November 25, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
The driver of the truck was not injured as a result of the collision and was charged with disobeying a red light.
Members of the SPS Traffic Unit are continuing to investigate.
