The device that was utilized was an on-site AED. The staff also provided assistance to the man in distress. Police wish to thank everyone involved.
A man is recovering in hospital after going into medical distress last night.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., February 14, 2018, Police responded to the 100 block of Wall Street where a man was reported to be in medical distress. Two members that overheard the call come in, quickly responded. While they were on route, staff at the Centre were attempting CPR and reporting that the man did not have a pulse. Upon Police arrival, Officers immediately utilized the AED that was onboard the Sergeant's police vehicle to revive the man.
The man was then transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services for further treatment.
AEDs have been in each divisional Sergeant's vehicle since 2014.
