Retirement Of Deputy Chief Jeff Bent

After a 36-year-old career in Policing, Deputy Chief Jeff Bent is retiring from the Saskatoon Police Service.

D/C Bent began his career with the SPS in 1982. Throughout it, he worked in many areas of the Service including; Patrol, Canine, Robbery, Homicide and Records Management. He was also a member of the Emergency Response Team and a Crisis Negotiator. Following his promotion to Sergeant, D/C Bent held a number of Acting Inspector and Superintendent positions including in; Community Policing Support, Human Resources, Public Affairs, Professional Standards and Criminal Investigations. He was promoted to the Superintendent in 2012 and to Deputy Chief in 2016.

D/C Bent had been involved in Policing for two years prior to being hired by the SPS, making his commitment to serving his community a total of 36 years.
