UPDATE: Suspicious Death Being Investigated As Homicide - 100 Block Cope Cr.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section are investigating the first homicide of 2018.

Following an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Coroner of Saskatchewan, and consent from the family, the Saskatoon Police Service has identified 60 year old, John McPherson as the victim in the city’s latest homicide investigation.

Officers were initially called to an address in the 100 block of Cope Crescent to check on the welfare of an individual just before noon on January 7, 2018. When they arrived they located a deceased man inside the home.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section are investigating the suspicious death of a 60 year old man in the 100 block of Cope Crescent.

Officers were initially called to the address to check on the welfare of an individual just before noon on January 7, 2018.  When they arrived they located a deceased man inside the home.  Major Crime investigators have since determined the death is suspicious in nature.  They are now waiting for the results of an autopsy which is scheduled for tomorrow.
