A woman has been arrested following two occurrences in which officers were dispatched to hotels for weapons located by staff.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., April 9, 2018 Saskatoon Police attended to a hotel in the 100 block of Circle Drive. Staff had located a loaded .22 caliber rifle and ammunition in one of the rooms. The guests of the room had checked out, but based on preliminary information, Police were able to determine the identity of a suspect.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., April 10, 2018, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Northridge Drive for another report of hotel staff discovering a firearm in a room. Police located the firearm which was actually a pellet gun. The suspect description matched the suspect in the first case.
At approximately 12:00 a.m., April 11, 2018, a member of the Canine Unit on Patrol located the suspect vehicle traveling on Circle Drive. The officer conducted a vehicle stop on Preston Avenue North near College Drive. The driver of the car was confirmed as the suspect in both cases, and she was taken into custody without incident. Various types of ammunition, a pellet gun and liquor were located inside the vehicle.
A 28 year old Saskatoon woman is facing nine weapons related charges and a charge for breaching her probation. She also had warrants for her arrest.
