Following eight weeks of hard work, members of the Cadet Orientation Police Studies (C.O.P.S.) program, are being recognized in a graduation ceremony this morning.
The program is a collaboration between the SPS, the Saskatoon Public School Board and the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Board, with assistance from the Kiwanis Club of Saskatoon. It is designed to develop stronger relationships between police and students, as well as bridge ethnic and socioeconomic gaps within our community. Interested Grade 11 and 12 students from across Saskatoon were encouraged to take part in the application process, including the development of a resume, references, an essay, an interview and background checks. Through an application process, these students were chosen for the program, which is recognized as a high school credit. They were issued uniforms and learned about all aspects of policing.
The media is invited to join us at 10:30 a.m., April 16, 2018 in the SPS Headquarters gymnasium to recognize the achievements of these cadets.
