Three people are facing charges after being found in possession of a stolen vehicle and evading Police earlier this morning.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., May 10, 2018, an officer in the Canine Unit observed a U-Haul van that was known to be stolen traveling in the area of 22nd Street West and Idylwyld Drive. A Patrol officer attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled. Additional responding Patrol Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device in the area of 19th Street East and 2nd Avenue South however the vehicle continued onto Sid Buckwold bridge. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Circle Drive near Clarence Avenue and a high risk vehicle stop was conducted. Two men and a woman were arrested without incident.
All three are charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.
The 51-year-old male driver is charged with; Evade Police, Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving while Disqualified, Possession of Identity Documents of another person, and Breach of his Conditional Sentence Order (x5). He also had outstanding warrants.
The 26-year-old woman is charged with; Possession of Methamphetamine and Breach of Probation.
