One man was arrested by a Canine officer after fleeing from a stolen vehicle earlier this morning.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m., June 7, 2018, a Patrol Sergeant was travelling northbound on Avenue H North near 31st Street West when he observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on 31st Street in the wrong lane. The Patrol Sergeant conducted a U-turn in an attempt to follow the vehicle and observed it pull over in the 700 block of 31st Street West. A man fled on foot but a canine unit apprehended him while he was hiding in some bushes in a back alley. He was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries consistent with dog bites.
The vehicle was determined to have been stolen.
The 37-year-old man is facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000 and Breach of Probation.
