UPDATE : 19 YEAR OLD MAN IN CUSTODY FOR SHOOTING - 600 BLOCK CONFEDERATION DRIVE

A 19 year old Saskatoon man is in custody facing firearm related charges in connection with a shooting that took place Monday evening. Detectives from the Targeted Enforcement Unit identified the suspect earlier today. This evening shortly before 9:00 PM Patrol officers were conducting a traffic stop in the 300 block of Ave R South, when they saw the suspect walk by. He was arrested without incident and will be appearing in court Wednesday.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.


Police are continuing with an investigation into a shooting that took place Monday evening in the  Confederation Park neighborhood.  At 7:00 PM the Saskatoon Police Service received a report of someone being shot outside a residence in the 600 block of Confederation Drive.  The victim, a 22 year old Saskatoon woman was transported to hospital  by Medavie Health Services West, with non-life threatening injuries.  

Witnesses described a 4 door dark coloured Volkswagon with four occupants, two men and two women,  that pulled onto a parking lot in the area. One of the passengers in the rear seat of the vehicle fired a shot at the victim who was standing on the balcony of an apartment building.  She was struck in the hand.  Members of Patrol and the Forensic Identification Unit were at the scene  and investigators do not believe this to be a random act.
