Shortly before 1:30 AM Thursday morning, police received a report of a stabbing at 20th St W and Ave D S. A witness was able to provide a description of the suspect who was seen running eastbound from the scene.
Responding Patrol officers intercepted a suspect matching the description at 20th St and 1st. Ave. The suspect was arrested without further incident.
A 32 year old Saskatoon man was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services West, with a stab wound to his abdomen. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The victim is not cooperating with police.
The 23 year old Saskatoon man who was arrested is being held on an unrelated warrant; however no charges have been laid at this point in relation to the assault. The incident is still under investigation.
