As part of our commitment to traffic safety, the Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Unit will be hosting a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P) Summer Enforcement Campaign on June 21-22, 2018.
A two-day initiative will consist of a large scale enforcement campaign that will take place in varied locations in Saskatoon.
Police from agencies across Saskatchewan will be present at these spots, so motorists should be prepared to stop. Police will be looking for traffic violations and - if they find any - they will take enforcement action. Some targeted offences include speeding, seatbelt use, cellular phone use, unlicensed drivers and commercial vehicle violations. As usual, criminal offences such as impaired driving will be high on the priority list of enforcement.
S.T.E.P. is a multi-agency task force focused on strategies to improve traffic safety in the province. Members include representatives from police services across Saskatchewan, along with Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), and the provincial Ministries of Justice, Finance, and Highways & Infrastructure (Highway Transport Patrol).
