Shortly before 9:00 a.m. June 28th, 2018 a 16 year old female was charged with Criminal Negligence by Discharging a Firearm Causing Death contrary to section 220(a) of Criminal Code of Canada for the death of a 15 year old male.
The female youth will appear in court this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Court info # 991056778.
Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section along with the Chief Coroner’s office, continue to investigate the death of a male youth that occurred in the early morning hours of June 3, 2018.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m., June 3, 2018, Patrol members responded to an injured male in a residence in the 500 block of Avenue J South. The 15-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name will not be released at the request of the family.
An autopsy was conducted on Monday, June 4, 2018, and in conjunction with further investigation, the death is being investigated as a homicide. His cause of death is not being released at this time.
Investigators do not believe this was a random incident.
Just before 1:00 am June 3rd, 2018 Saskatoon Police Service Patrol members responded to an injured male in a residence in the 500 block Avenue J South.
Upon arrival members located a male. This male died from his injury.
Members from the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification attended the scene and are actively investigating this incident. Both sections will be working with the Chief Coroner's office to investigate this incident fully.
