A 24 year old woman is facing several charges following an incident which started in a downtown bar and ended with the assault of a 10 year old girl.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., July 4, 2018, SPS Bike Unit officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a woman in the downtown area. They located a woman matching the description nearby. A struggle ensued and the woman spat at one of the officers as they attempted to take her into custody.
Witnesses reported the incident began when a woman entered a bar in the 200 block of 21st Street East, stole a drink from a patron, turned over some chairs and threw the glass at him before fleeing on foot. The woman was witnessed kicking and punching parked vehicles before approaching a family walking in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue South. The woman then punched a 10 year old girl before again fleeing and being located by officers. The girl's physical injury was minor in nature.
The 24 year old woman is facing charges of Assault (x3), Theft, Breach of Undertaking and Possession of Marihuana.
