Three people are in custody following a high risk vehicle stop on Idylwyld Drive.
On August 2, 2018 at approximately 7:50 p.m., Police observed a stolen vehicle in the 600 block of Idylwyld Drive North. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of North Battleford. A high risk vehicle stop was conducted. The front male passenger of the vehicle refused to comply with Officer’s commands and fled on foot. While an officer pursued on foot, a separate officer arrested a male driver and female passenger, who were still in the vehicle.
The male fled through a residence while being pursued by Police and was eventually located in a backyard in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North. A brief physical altercation occurred with officers, but they were successful in taking the male safely into custody.
The male had sustained a non-life threatening injury to his arm and leg when fleeing from Police. He indicated to Police that the injuries happened when jumping over a barbwire fence. He was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The 34 year old male who fled is now facing charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property and Obstruction.
The 24 year old female passenger and 20 year old male driver are facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property.
Their initial court appearance will be before a Justice of the Peace the morning of August 03, 2018.
