Two men, ages 24 and 37 are facing more than 30 charges following an incident with a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 9:40 p.m, September 11, 2018, patrol officers witnessed a vehicle at Idylwyld Drive and 39th Street. The Ford Fusion was believed to have been stolen from Regina. The vehicle fled an attempted traffic stop but was tracked from the air by members of the SPS Air Support Unit who directed ground units. A tire deflation device was used and was successful in disabling the vehicle in the 1800 block of Avenue D North. The two occupants attempted to flee on foot, however a Canine Unit was able to locate the driver in the 2000 block of Avenue B North. The passenger was also brought into custody. Two .22 calibre rifles were located in the vehicle and the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Both men are now facing charges including; Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Evade Police and Possession of Methamphetamine.
