Two men are facing charges following an evade police incident early this morning.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. officers on patrol spotted a black sedan traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic on Highway 16. The vehicle then took the exit onto Circle Drive west. A traffic stop was attempted however the occupants of the vehicle began evading Police. Moments later the vehicle struck the center median and light standard at the overpass at 51st Street, and the suspects fled the scene on foot. A short foot pursuit occurred and one suspect was brought into custody. An SPS Canine Unit was able to locate the second suspect shortly afterward.
A 27 year old Saskatoon man is facing a charges including impaired driving, dangerous driving and evade police. The second man, a 23 year old from Prince Albert is facing a charge of breach of court conditions and was wanted on a warrant at the time of the incident.
They are expected to appear in court later today.
